Laptop notebook computers are no different from a desktop computer; the only difference between the two is that

similarities in them such as some typical components such as display, pointing device also known as touch pad,
speakers, keyboard and battery. The battery of notebook computers is its most essential component. An effective
battery will allow its users to use their laptop notebook computers for at least two to three hours before
discharging completely. When you feel the battery discharges faster then before then it is an indication that the

it comes to size, notebook computers are becoming smaller and smaller everyday. Along with reduction in size due to
technological advancement the laptop notebook computers even weigh less now a days than those notebook
computers you will find in the market that weigh only 3 to 11 pounds. Many of the notebooks you will find have a
flip on them. These flips protect the screen and the keyboard when the laptop notebook computer is
closed.
These notebooks were originally made for a small target market mostly for business executives
and other elite class holders such as militants, accountants, managers, directors and sales representatives. With
time, however, the concept revolving around laptop notebook changed and now they are found everywhere from offices to
businesses and schools to hospitals even households now hold laptop notebook computers. Gradually, laptops have
taken over desktops as well. A research in 2008 showed that notebook computers were sold more
than desktop computers.
Notebook computers because of their technological structure are best suited for wireless Internet
and communication. They show their best performance when they have access to Internet because most of the
applications installed on laptop notebook computers are web based. They run on operating systems like Windows
XP,Vista or Window 7 and Linux. Despite of the many advantages that these notebook computers have,
there are certain disadvantages attached with the machines that cannot be ignored. Due to the small size the
Internet storage of the machine is very low. Also, the storage device of laptop notebook computers is in the form
of solid-state drives instead of hard disks. Hard disks are very essential for installing of several
programs. Also, another disadvantage is, due to being pricy, these notebooks are targeted by thiefs.
